Theo nodded his head as he took a bite of food and swallowed before answering. "Yeah, I have a follow up appointment in a few weeks," he rubbed his side a bit, the muscles and ribs still very sore on that side. The testing and imaging he had to go through would clear him for work or physical therapy which he knew he'd probably have to go to in order to rebuild some stamina. Shaking his head and biting his lip to refrain from laughing, he then replied, "touche, also it still hurts to laugh," he winced but hoped his brother knew he definitely wanted to laugh along side him. He had enough strength to feed himself but he couldn't help but poke fun, especially when Jason seemed to walk right into the joke. Taking some water to wash down the food, he then wiped his lips, and got serious for a moment, "I won't lie, I'd love to get back out there as soon as I can. Heck if I was cleared tomorrow I'd probably want to work the next shift." But he knew that wasn't realistic or feasible, "but this injury scared the shit out of me. And not just it being about me. But the kids, and for you and Delia and Tessa. And for Tam too. I think it was a wake up call to slow down." Then smiling he agreed, "it'll be nice to be around with them. They're at their mom's for Thanksgiving but I get them for Christmas so it'll be really great." The as he was about to take another bite, he just sighed and shook his head, "Har-Har very funny."

"And not to be the bearer of bad news here, but you'll probably have to deal with more of it until you're healed up all the way," since he was sure that Theo would have to be cleared for work before he could go back when he was ready. It was tough to get hurt, but it was even tougher when you had a job like he did and didn't bounce back quite as fast as one might have in their twenties. But Theo was tough, too, he would pull through it. "You have a girlfriend for that, thank you very much," he shot back with a snorted laugh, shaking his head. No, Jace wasn't going to feed his brother anytime soon, he was still capable of using his arms, albeit carefully, and there were some boundaries that you just had to put into place. "I think that's smart," he said after a moment, gesturing over to his brother, "it wouldn't hurt you to take a little time off and actually heal up, rather than get to a point where you feel like you're healed up and then end up getting hurt again. And, honestly, I'm sure Tamara and the kids will like having you around, too, for the holidays," he took a bite of the chicken, chewing thoughtfully, before he let out a laugh. "I would say that you'll forget how to cook for yourself, but…" he grinned.

Gearing up for the Ren Faire, Theo got all dressed up as a blacksmith complete with a leather apron even. Leaving the kids with a babysitter, Theo went off to the Ren Faire flying solo. Things had been weighing on his mind for a while and needed to tell someone. He figured Jason was probably his best bet, him being Theo's closest friend right now. He had been mulling over the seoeration and divorce and needed to tell someone other than Rafael and Tamara and his kids and ex. Eyeing Jason at a table, he brought over two jugs of ale in hopes of maybe softening the news he was about to tell him. "Hey," he said sitting down and offering a hug to Jason.

Jason stood on a roof top, watching the building across from him. It had never been a problem before, just some relatively uneventful homeless kids, he tried to check in on them from time to time. Tonight, though, he had gotten a tip from Oracle. Not a lot of details, just a scared kid who said something dangerous was about to happen. Whatever, he didn’t have a set plan for tonight anyways.

Then he noticed something on the roof top behind him, someone.

He took out a gun, spinning to point it at whoever had thought they could sneak up on him to find… a kid, standing by the door to the roof. He sighed, lowering his arm, he really didn’t wanna be dealing with this right now.

God, what are you doing up here, kid?

When Theo opened the door to the roof, he was shocked that the Red Hood actually bothered to show up.

Who: Theo and @jaceeverett Where: Jason's Camper, Merrock Countryside When: January 2024 One of Theo's resolutions for 2024, was to keep getting to know Jason, and to get that brotherly relationship back to where it was all those years ago. At the end of 2023, Theo was happy with the progress he and his brother Jason had made since Jason's return to town. Now that it was passed the first of January, and the holiday season had died down, Theo had made plans to visit Jason's camper since the latter had already come by Theo's house. Picking up some lunch from Deidre's Deli by his house, Theo made the drive out to the countryside to visit Jason and have some lunch. The drive felt much longer than he remembered, thinking maybe he got the location and address wrong? He pulled over to check his GPS and make sure he was headed in the right direction. After double checking, he made his way towards the direction he was told, and after sometime, made to where he spotted a camper down a dirt road. Driving down the road, he pulled his truck into a spot off to the side and hopped out, bag of lunch in hand. Getting to the door, he knocked a couple of times and waited for his brother to answer.

"No sir," he grinned bringing up a hand to his chin, scratching it a bit. Of course he hadn't planned on getting hurt, most definitely did not plan on the floor buckling underneath him. But it happened and he was okay, a little worse for wear, but he'd be okay. He was more banged up than anything but he'd be okay, and able to go home soon. "Definitely, and I'm glad they are, especially mine," he nodded, knowing everyone around him would take care of him, not that he'd let them without being stubborn though. "I get it, I get it," he put up a hand in surrender as he smiled.

"No, I'm sure that you didn't," he le out his own soft laugh, shaking his head. He couldn't imagine that Theo had wanted to get hurt at all, let alone at work, when he had been trying to save lives and put out fires. But he was alright -- or would be alright, and that was what mattered the most, that he had gotten through it and would be able to leave the hospital in one piece, when the time was right. "I'm definitely sure of that. One thing family is good at: holding you accountable when you need to be behaving yourself." Tamara, the kids, Jace, Cordelia and Tessa, his friends, his fellow firefighters, he was sure there was no shortage of people who would be making sure he took care of himself. "Do you want me to keep going?" he asked with a laugh.
